Review of Hallmarks Abigail and The Balance Beam Story Buddy

20 Apr

My niece Maya and an audience with her Story Buddy!

Afternoon All, told you I would be on!!

Thanks to the lovely people at Hallmark for sending us a Hallmarks Abigal Story Buddy for our niece to review.  Maya is 6 years old and a very good reader.  We were sent a Watson The Story Buddy to review before and the boys loved it.  Maya loved her Abigail even more as she is old enough to read herself.  The great thing about Story Buddies, is that you read the story and the character reads the highlighted parts.

Firstly Maya attemped reading the book in the living room.  This as we expected was not succesfull as you need to be in a quiet room for the character to respond and we had a houseful.  So at first Maya went in a quiet bedroom and after reading the book, ran back in and said “It works, she talks!”  Then she took Yusuf in the bedroom and read to him and Yusuf came in and told us all that “She talked” excitedely.  Then the last audience member that Maya got was Nanny.  Nanny absoultely loved it, she came back in and said “That’s fantastic, I wouldn’t mind one for myself.”

We love the Story Buddies and think they are great for a range of ages (including Adults that are big kids!!!) Priced at £19.99 in Hallmark stores and at www.Hallmark.co.uk.   Additional books for Abigail are also available from the same outlets priced at £5.99 each.  More character members will be added to the gang this year.

Disclosure:  We received a Abigal Story Buddy (character and book) to review.  This is the opinion of myself and family.  We are not paid for this post.

Review of Priddy Books

1 Dec

In our house we love reading books, so were very pleased when we got a chance to review for Priddy Books.  A lovely lady at Priddy Books sent us 2 books.  This was the book for Zakariyah.  It’s suitable from birth and like the other book we loved the vibrant colours.  Zakariyah really enjoyed looking at this and we can’t wait to see him saying the different types of trucks when he starts talking more.  Sadly our camera is broken, but there was a lovely moment when Yusuf sat down and read the book with his brother showing him the different types of trucks.  This book is a bargain at £3.99.

This book is Yusuf’s.  It is a board book which let’s you pretend to be a Builder.  It has pieces which you insert into the correct place.  Mummy and Yusuf really enjoyed doing this.  Zakariyah also had a lot of enjoyment with this book, it must have been the bright colours!  He kept running off with the pieces!!   This book retails at £10.99 we think this is a great price for a lovely board book.  We received both books in a Priddy Books bag, which Mummy now takes with her everywhere!  To have a look at the full range of Priddy Books visit: www.priddybooks.com

Disclosure: We were sent 2 books for the boys for reviewing.  This is the opinion of myself and family.

Review of Dora The Explorer Enchated Forest Adventures DVD

24 Nov

Morning All,

Thanks to the fantastic Louise at Rock and Roll Baby World, we received a Dora The Explorer Enchanted Forest Adventures DVD to review.  The DVD itself came in a lovely backpack box with some stickers and colour sheets.  The thing that we love about Dora is that it is suitable for both boys and girls.  Our oldest is a real boys boy but Dora is one programme that he will watch.  Both ouf our boys don’t watch Dora all the time, but when they do it really gets their attention and sometimes we can get rare moments of peace whilst they watch!!

In this episode of Dora The Exlplorer Enchanted Forest Adventures, Dora is in a magical world ruled by Unicornio the Unicorn King.  Dora, Boots and friends help get Unicornio back as King when an owl takes over and sets up some mean rules!

The DVD features 3 parts: Part 1 Tale of the Unicorn King, Part 2 Secret of Atlantis and Part 3 Dora Saves King Unicornio.  The full 3 parts will be shown on Nick Jr on Friday 25th November at 4pm and Sunday 27th November at 12pm.

Here’s a taster clip: http://www.nick.co.uk/clips/embed/?clipid=dora-enchanted-forest-forest-song

Review of The Fabulous Bakin’ Boys Christmas Cupcakes

23 Nov

 Morning All,

Our family is very partial to sweet things as a treat.  The biggest culprits being Mummy and Yusuf!  Thanks to the lovely people at Bottle PR, we were sent a pack of Fabulous Christmas Cupcakes Chocolate Orange flavour.  There are 2 dark chocolate, 2 milk chocolate and 2 white chocolate.

Myself and Mummy managed to taste before Yusuf got his hands on the rest!  I had the dark chocolate and Mummy had a milk chocolate one.  We both thought they were yummy, I found the topping quite sweet but I think it was just to Mummys liking!  As for Yusuf over 2 days he finished the remaining 4 with poor Zakariyah (our 1 year old) quickly grabbing any bits that Yusuf dropped!!   Yusuf would have finished them off a lot quicker if we would have let him!  His comments were “Yummy Yummy” and “I like the icing!!”

The Christmas Cupcakes come in 2 flavours: Mint Chocolate and Chocolate Orange.  There are 6 in a pack and they are individually wrapped so perfect to pop in a stocking.  They will be available at a special introductory price of £1.00 per pack and available from Tesco, Asda and Morrisons.  For more information visit: www.bakinboys.co.uk

Disclosure:  We were sent 1 pack of Fabulous Bakin Boys Christmas Cupcakes for reviewing purpose.  Any views are the opinion of myself and the family.

Review on I Don’t Know How She Does It Book by Allison Pearson

21 Nov

Morning All,

This is a guest post from Mummy.  I’ve finally finished I Don’t Know How She Does It. Hooray! That fact sums up the jist of the book as like Kate Reddy the character, my time is limited though not to the extent of Kate’s!  The only time I got to read this book was my journey to and from work on the tube, when I could get a seat!!  I really enjoyed this book and I am rather sad it’s finished!!

Kate Reddy is a working mother of two children (just like me!)  Her job is a lot more demanding than mine and it often requires her to leave the country.  Although our lifes are very different they are similar in a few ways.  The first similarity is that she is always trying to remember what she needs to do/buy/arrange! sometimes as humans do she does forget little things.  The other similarity is sometimes feeling overwhelmed to how much we as working parents miss our children.  At the same time finding the weekends such a big difference to the week and wondering if we will ever get used to how much attention and time the kids want!  But of course we love it!  There are a lot of times in the book where Kate feels sad/guilty that she in not at home full time, which I also feel a lot!

The big difference between myself and Kate is that her husband/ the kids Daddy also works.  Not the demanding hours that Kate does and he does not need to work abroad.  I often felt that Kate did not give Richard the credit he deserves.   My other half/ Daddy to the boys does even more than what Richard does and I always let him know how much I appreciate him and what he does.   I don’t think that she ever meant to be like that just feeling frustrated at working so much and also being busy constantly at home.  But the great thing is that at the end of the book she does realise that she takes him for granted, I loved the ending I’m not going to give it away but it is quite a Fairytale Ending in my opinion.

This is a great read for anybody, but I find that someome who is in a similar position whether female or male will find it a lot more interesting.  I often read the book and I would say to myself  “Wow, me too!”  I would love to see the film to see how it compares as people always say the film can never be better than the book!

Disclosure:  We were given a copy of I Don’t Know How She Does It by Allison Pearson for reviewing purposes.  This is Mummy’s opinion!

Review of Pirates Sticky Mosaics

1 Nov

 Morning All,

Thanks to Stephanie at Orb Factory we received a set of Pirates Sticky Mosaics to review.  We got this a couple of weeks ago but have never found the time with the babies not around as there are small pieces.  Mummys sister had a housewarming party so with plenty of people around she thought this would be a good opportunity to use it.   You get 4 scenes and lots of numbered sticky bits.  On each scene there are numbered parts and you put the stickers on the right numbers.

This set is for ages 5+ and that is why the boys cousin Maya enjoyed it the most as she is 5 years old.  She really enjoyed doing it and it is at the age where she wants to be very creative.  She also had more patience and didn’t get bored of it.  Mummy thought it was great fun and lets kids be creative and imaginative.  Since Maya enjoyed it the most we let her keep it and and she was very pleased about that.  This particular set is $16.99.  To keep up to date with Orb Factory, visist the following websites:  http://twitter.com/orbfactory  www.facebook.com/orbfactory  http://orbfactory.blogspot.com/

Disclosure:  We were sent a set of Pirates Sticky Mosaics for reviewing.  This review is the opinion of my family.

Review of Sainsbury’s Chocolates

25 Oct

Morning All,

I don’t think there are many people out there who would turn down chocolate.  So when the lovely people at Sainsbury’s asked if we would like to review some chocolates we thought it would be rude to refuse!  We were sent 5 big bars of chocolates: Smooth White Chocolate, Turkish Delight, Smooth Dark Chocolate, Wholenut Dark Chocolate and Smooth Milk Chocolate.

What we thought:  Our favourite was the Wholenut Dark Chocolate, that tends to usually be my favourite.  Mummy thought it was a lot less bitter than what she is usually used to with Dark Chocolate.  Yusuf’s favourite was the Milk Chocolate followed by the Dark Chocolate and the Wholenut Dark Chocolate minus the nuts as he doesn’t like nuts! We gave the Smooth Dark Chocolate to Granny as a birthday present from the boys.  She said “All dark chocolates should be like this, not too rich”  We gave the Turkish Delight one to Nanny as we don’t like Turkish Delight she said “It was nice, I would have prefered more Turkish Delight in the chocolate!”  Overall we were impressed with the chocolates they tasted just as good as the more expenisve brands out there.

Disclosure:  We were sent 5 bars of chocolates for reviewing purposes.  This is the opinion of myself and my family.

Review of Hama Beads

18 Oct

 Morning All,

When we saw a tweet asking if anyone wanted to review some Hama beads we thought it would be a nice idea.  We have never come across Hama beads before so this was new to us.  The lovely Merry asked us to pick a set so as Yusuf is a big Toy Story fan we picked that one.  We decided to use the set on Sunday whilst the footie was on to keep Yusuf entertained.  So Mummy and myself told Yusuf that we had a surprise for him (we had kept the box hidden!)  He was very excited as we knew he would be especially knowing that it was Toy Story.

The idea of Hama Beads is that you get a pegboard and you place the beads on the pegboard. You can either make your own design or follow the pictures.  Once the character is finished you put an irorning paper and iron and then you can take the piece out.  All the items are provided in the box.  Now as Mummy had to do most of the design (Yusuf wanted to do Buzz Lightyear)  we didn’t get to finish it, as it’s hard when you have another 1 year old that is running around!  But what Mummy did get to do looked great.  We wanted to take a picture this morning of what Mummy and Yusuf did so far.  But this morning Yusuf took it upon himself to pour all of the beads back in the container and say “We will do it again today!!”

We think that Hama Beads is a great concept.  I think we will enjoy doing it with Yusuf even more as he gets older as the beads are small and when he was picking them up he was dropping them a lot!  But Mummy really enjoyed doing it and Yusuf was watching intently and enjoyed seeing Buzz look more like him as they went along.

We have had a look at Merrys’ website and we think it has some great items especially with Christmas coming up.  They not only stock Hama Beads but Jewellery Making, Mosaic Craft Kits to name a few.  So head on over there http://www.craftmerrily.co.uk/section/15/1/hama-beads  The prices are very reasonable we think.  The set we had was only £13.95.  Also take at look at Merrys’ own blog which has loads of great ideas for Hama Beads: http://www.patchofpuddles.co.uk/archives/category/hama-beads

Disclosure:  We were sent one box of  Toy Story Hama Beads to review.  This is the opinion of myself and the family.

Review of Story Buddies

12 Oct

Thanks to the lovely Lousie at Lucre we got to review a Watson Story Buddy!  Story Buddies are cuddly toys with its own story book and the cuddly toy interracts with the book.  For example in the story there was a sentence in the book which says “Oh Watson, I could really use your help!” Watson responds “I’m on my way!”  Yusuf really enjoys both the story and the cuddly toy , the first time he heard Watson respond he jumped up and down!!  Every night since we have had it it comes up to the bedroom at bedtime with his favourite toys!!

The stories are great fun and very imaginative.  We love the names of the 3 characters, they are: Watson the Racoon,  Cooper the Bear and Jingle the Husky!  There will be new characters in the New Year.  We think that the Story Buddy is a great gift and would make a lovely Christmas Present.

The Story Buddy is priced at £19.99 each and additional books for Watson and Cooper will be available at £5.99 each.  They are available from October in Hallmark Gold Crown Stores and on www.Hallmark.co.uk

Disclosure:  We received a Story Buddy which comes with a story to review.  This review is the opinion of myself and the family.

Review of school shoes from Shoezone

5 Oct

School Shoes

Thanks to the lovely Claire who blogs over at http://ninjakillercat.blogspot.com/ who was looking for people to  review some school shoes.  Here is what we thought of the shoes:

The shoes look really lovely. Yusuf has another pair of school shoes from a very popular shoe shop especially for kids.  We prefered these, they looked nicer and felt a lot lighter which is good when your thinking of an energitic almost 4 year old on the go all day!!  Yusufs’ take on the shoes was:  “Daddy am I wearing the top quality shoes today?!”   I promise that these words were on his own behalf (top quality is a popular thing with him at the moment!!)  We think coming from a 4 year old that says quite a lot.

Disclosure: We were sent one pair of School shoes from Shoezone via Claire for reviewing purposes.  This is purely the opinion of myself and our oldest son!

Review of Stich Baby & Kids Pyjamas (Part 1)

4 Oct

Morning All,

When we saw a tweet asking if anyone wanted to review kids pyjamas we couldn’t  have responded quick enough.  Tracey at Stich Baby & Kids asked us to pick out 4 pyjamas which was so kind of her.  We picked 2 pairs for each of the boys.  For Zakariyah we picked: Panda and Rockets.  For Yusuf we picked Lions and Super Fly.

The pyjamas are such great quality.  The colours are very vibrant and we all thought that the boys look very cute!  What we really loved is that especially since we were having some hot weather that some of the sets of pyjamas have t-shirts.  The Super Fly pyjamas have shorts which is great for Yusuf because even when it’s a bit chilly he’s ‘hot!’

Yusuf is his Super Fly pyjamas.

Stich Baby & Kids not only stock Pyjamas they also do onesies & rompers and T-Shirts.  All of the pyjamas are on sale at the moment at $12.00 each.   The shipping to UK is charged at $20 flat rate shipping & handling.  It takes between 1-3 weeks to arrive, our package took a week but it would vary.  We really liked the pyjamas and if you like what you see have a peek at the website:  http://www.shopstich.com.au/

In the next couple of days I will post pictures of the other 2 pairs we received.

Disclosure: We were sent 4 pairs of pyjamas for reviewing purposes.  Anything I have written is my opinion.

Rastamouse Da Crucial Plan & Other Adventures DVD review

28 Sep

Morning All,
Come on everyone sing it with me “Douba Douba Douba Dunga, Douba Douba Day!!!  Thanks to a lovely chap at PDR Publicity we were sent The Rastamouse DVD to review.  Our eldest Yusuf is a fan, has been from when it first started.  The youngest Zakariyah loves the theme tune (must be the Jamaican in them, Mummy is quarter Jamaican!)  As you can see from when he hears the song he has to get as close as he can to the TV to see it.
We have always loved the concept of Rastamouse.  We are a family that has such a mix- I’m Mauritian, Mummy is half Greek, quarter Jamaican and quarter English.  Rastamouse for us is a great way of showing culture.  We think it’s important for the kids to be aware of different races and accents and Rastamouse certainly does that.  Yusuf sometimes does a little dance to the song and has said “Irie man” a few times!
We watched the DVD once 2 mornings ago.  It’s nice to put the DVD on in the morning as it helps us get prepared for the day.  When watching one episode  Yusuf said “Mummy all the cheese has gone!!”  We had it on again this morning.
If you have Rastamouse fans in your house, we would recommend Rastamouse Da Crucial Plan & Other Adventures DVD.  It’s great fun to watch.

Review on Tactic Board Games

27 Sep

Morning All,
Well thanks to the great people at blog-match and Tactic games we were sent two board games to review.  We were sent Dotto and Roll For Gold.  So on Sunday Mummy and Nanny decided to have a games day.  They played Dotto which is aimed at 6 years plus.  Yusuf is 4 in November so a little bit younger than the recommended age but we all thought that they are games that are quite easy to grasp.
The aim of Dotto is basically to match the same sequence as shown on the cards on the board with the dice.  But you have to do it before your time is up (you get a timer) and then it passes to the next player.  There are also cards which means that the players turns are reversed.  There is also an element of the game where you all get tokens and I think if I’m right that if you lose the token it means youv’e lost – I think!  Mummy and Nanny decided not to use that element as they thought that it would complicate it for Yusuf.
Now let’s get down to how the game actually went when they played.  It took a little while to explain to Yusuf that in board games there are rules and he has to stick to them not make his own.  Even his first couple of turns when he picked his card he said “I want another one, it’s not my favourite colour!!!”  But after some patience from Mummy and Nanny he did start to grasp it better.  They didn’t play for too long around half an hour because they didn’t want Yusuf to get bored of the game on the first day.  Mummy and Yusuf played a bit last night and it was a similar scenario at first but he grasped it after.

We was really glad we got the opportunity to play.   We think that board games are going to be an important part of Yusufs’ development as it teaches him patience, and rules! We also got another game called Roll For Gold, this is aimed at ages 7 years so we have deciced (based on the experience we had with Dott0) to leave that one for a couple of weeks, but Yusuf is looking forward to playing it soon so we’ll see.  Roll For Gold is a game where you have to collect as many treasure pieces.  Yusuf has seen the box and is really intrigued to play as he loves Pirates!
We will be playing this at some point just waiting for the right moment to explain to Yusuf the concept!!
For more information on Tactic games visit their website: www.tactic.net and you can buy them from: http://www.carouseltoyshop.co.uk/
Disclosure:  We were sent two board games Roll For Gold and Dotto to review.  They were sent from Tactic games via www.blog-match.com  the website that matches brands with bloggers.

Review of Earth Friendly Gentle Kids Wipes

22 Sep

 Morning All,
At the moment we use one particular brand for our wipes.  But the most important thing to us is that they are sensitive and alcohol free.  So when we were asked by Sparkle PR if we wanted to review some wipes from The Earth Friendly Kids we said, Yes Please!
The wipes come in a pack of 60.  There are hypoallergenic, alcohol and fragnance free.  They are infused with Aloe Vera.  Hence the reason Mummy kept sniffing them.  She really loved the smell of them and I have to say they smell really nice.  They are moist also which means you don’t need many for nappy changes.  We also used them to clean our eldest sons hands.   Nanny was in the room when Mummy first used them.  She commented  “These wipes are lovely, when I buy some wipes to put in my bag I will have a look out for these ones”  proving that it’s also popular for use with adults too!!
They have a range of products which include: Earth Friendly Kids Shampoo & Bodywash, Earth Friendly Kids Bubblebath, Earth Friendly Kids Handwash, Earth Friendly Kids Gentle Kids Wipes and Earth Friendly Kids Body Lotion.  All their products are available in Waitrose (where we do our weekly shop, so will be looking out for them) and you can also buy them from www.HealthQuestStore.com
If you prefer to use products with natural ingredients than I would recommend Earth Friendly Kids range.  Worth also noting is that all their products are animal testing free, free of artificial colouring and suitable for Vegans and Vegetarian Society approved.

Review of Teas Me (Loose Tea) – from Squeeze Me Juice

15 Sep

Teas Me Loose Tea

Morning All,

We received this  lovely package from Squeeze Me Juice yesterday and as all the household are good tea fans we couldn’t wait to try them!  We were sent three flavours to try: Earl Grey, Good Morning Sunshine and Simply The Zest.  Yesterday evening as the day was winding down we was all (Myself, Yvette my partner and my cousin Mahdee) in need of a nice cup of tea.  Yvette decided to try the Earl Grey so we all had one.  The aroma and the freshness of the tea was amazing!  We all really enjoyed it.  The only thing to note is that as we like milk in our tea and we like it quite strong so the next tea we brewed for a bit longer.

This morning Yvette made another tea for me as I was preparing to start my day with the boys!  We thought Good Morning Sunshine would be the most appropriate for a kickstart to the day!  Personally I prefer the Earl Grey, Earl Grey has always been my favourite but Good Morning Sunshine is pleasant and it did make me feel a little more human!!!

I would recommend Teas Me to anybody who really appreciates great tasting fresh tea.  The other flavours of their tea are: Builders Blend, Come to bed, Good Morning Sunshine decaff, After dinner mint and Sweet chai of mine.  They are £3.99 each.  If you want to find out more visit: www.squeezemejuice.co.uk

Disclosure: I do not work for Squeeze Me Juice.  They sent us 3 samples for reviewing purposes.  This review is the honest opinion of myself and the family.

Review of Galt Toys Home Learning Books

14 Sep

Morning All,

Well, we are busy this week!  Thanks to the Lovely people at Galt Toys, we were luck enough to review their Home Learning Books.  They sent us The Colour Shapes and Sizes and First Writing Sticker Books.  We love reading in this house and it’s even more great when there are activities to do.  As Mummy works, she set aside some time with Yusuf who is 4 in November to do some activities.

Mummy and Yusuf only went through The Colour Shapes and Sizes book as the First Writing Book is for ages 4+ and we want to wait a couple of months before we introduce him to that one.  Both of them really enjoyed the book, there was so many activites to do: counting, identifying different colours, shapes, putting stickers in the right places and colouring!  We were really impressed with the books and the colours are lovely and bright.

Here is a page of Yusufs’ handywork!:

We would recommend the Galt Toys Home Learning Books for any kids of school age.  For more of the book range (and their toys look great too!)  have a look at the Galt Toys website:  www.galttoys.com
Disclosure:  We were sent two books from Galt Toys for reviewing purposes.  I do not work for them, this review is purely the opinion of myself- and my son Yusuf!!

Review of Olive The Ostrich

13 Sep

Yusuf watching Olive The Ostrich

Good Morning,

Thanks to the lovely Louise @ Rock and Roll Baby World and Nick Jr we were sent a Olive The Ostrich Pack.  The pack contained a DVD with 2 episodes and stickers and a poster.  Nick Jr is one of the main channels that its on in our household.   For a couple of weeks Yusuf has seen the adverts for Olive The Ostrich and asking “When is it on?!”

Olive the Ostrich is a lovely programme with Rolf Harris as the Narrator.  When Olive buries her head in the sand she goes on adventures, somewhere new in each episode.  It also features artwork from schools across the UK at the end of each episode which we all noticed.

Yusuf enjoyed the programme and instantly recognised Olive when we showed him the pack!  When he watched he did not move much, (which is quite a big thing for him!) I think it helps that the the programme is not too long so the child does not get distracted if it goes on for too long.  Mummy forgot the poster at work as she could not fit it in her bag!!!  We will show it to him tonight Mummy is sure he will like it.  The stickers went on our fridge straight away!

There is a small microsite which has an Olive The Ostrich section and the kids can create pictures on there.  The link is http://www.nickjr.co.uk/olive-the-ostrich/

Olive The Ostrich is on weekdays at 8:15 am and 6:30 pm only on Nick Jr. (Sky 615, Virgin 715 and TalkTalk 318)

Disclosue:  I received a Olive The Ostrich Pack, which contained a DVD, stickers and poster.  This is not a paid post.  This is purely the opinions of myself and the family.

Happy Birthday Postman Pat DVD Review

2 Sep

Afternoon All,

Postman Pat is approaching his 30th birthday believe it or not!  To celebrate a limited edition Happy Birthday Postman Pat will be released on the 12th of September.

When we was offered the chance to review Postman Pats’ Birthday DVD we jumped at the chance.  Since Yusuf was around 2 years old he grew a love for Postman Pat.  So the lovely people at mi-comms sent us the DVD.  The DVD has 2 discs with 8 episodes and is 3+ hours long:

Postman Pat’s Great Big Party

Postman Pat Takes The Bus

Postman Pat & The Toy Soldiers

Postman Pat & The Tuba

Postman Pat & The Greendale Rocket

Postman Pat & The Barometer

Postman Pat Clowns Around

Postman Pat’s Pirate Treasure

As Yusuf has been a fan for a while he has already seen some of these episodes on separate DVDs’  so did get a bit distracted when he was watching one he had already seen.  But he did enjoy seeing episodes that he hasn’t seen.  He said “Mummy, Daddy a new one!”  Our youngest boy who is 1 in October enjoyed the theme tune especially.

If you have a Postman Pat fan in your household I would recommend this DVD!!!  For more information and products visit http://www.postmanpat.com

Please note we received the DVD in exchange for a honest review.  This review is mine and the boys opinion!

Review of Silver Spring Kids’ Water

4 Aug

When Silver Spring offered to send us some samples of Silver Spring Water for Kids we were very pleased.  Our oldest son Yusuf has taken a slow step into getting interested in water.  He wil sometimes ask for some which he didn’t do for a long time.  We were keen to try and get him drinking a bit more water.
When Yusuf first saw them he eyes lit up and he was excited to see all the different characters on each bottle!  He couldn’t decide which ones he wanted so he had some from each.  We then put the rest in the fridge and and now when he wants some he will take all of them out of the fridge and drink some from each.  For him this is a big step and we are very pleased about this.  It definetly encourages him to drink seeing that his favourite characters are on the bottle!

The water bottles are pure spring water from The North Downs of Kent.  There are 49p each and £2.49 for a pack of 6.  The full range is Angelina Ballerina, Fireman Sam, Thomas The Tank Engine and Bob the Builder.  Boots are selling Angelina Ballerina and Fireman Sam and Asda are selling Angelina Ballerina and Bob The Builder.  If you are keen to get your children to drink more water this is a great incentive for them and they will be great for when school starts.

Review of Peter Rabbit Organic Juices

2 Aug

The lovely people at Peter Rabbit Organics sent us some carton juices to review.  The juices are diluted and are suitable from 6 months+.  You don’t have to worry about if they are too sweet as there are no added sugar, preservatives or artificial ingredients.
They come in 3 flavours: Pear, Apple and Grape and Blackcurrant and Apple.  They are mini cartons of 150ml.  I found the kids enjoyed them and the older ones seem to like the fact there is a cartoon of Peter Rabbit on the juice!  What I was the most happy about is that I didn’t have to worry about diluting the juice for my youngest boy who is 10 months almost.
As you can see it’s a bit difficult to get them at a young age to drink the juice not play with it!!

The Peter Rabbit Organics’ juices retail at 55p each and are available from Sainsburys, Waitrose, Asda, Booths, Whole Foods and Ocado.  For more info go to their website: www.peterrabbitorganics.co.uk
Please note I was sent the samples by Peter Rabbit Organics for free to review.  I was not paid for this review.  I do not work for them and this is my opinion only.

Review of The Bopps on Nick. Jr

22 Jul

Morning All,

This is my first review so please be gentle!  I was sent two video clips of The Bopps and we all watched this morning.   The Bopps is a sketch type programme with StanBopp and KeithBopp.  At the end of the programme there is a song.  The first video was about a squirrel where cheeky StanBopp pretends to be a squirrel so he can get lots of nuts too eat!  KeithBopp goes away and when he comes back he realises that the ‘squirrel’ is not a squirrel and it is in fact StanBopp!  The 2nd clip was a song about Breakfast it was catchy and Yusuf said I like toast and chesse for breakfast!  So it’s good that it raises awareness.

Yusuf (who is 3 and a half) watched the programme from start to finish and he was not distracted, which means he enjoyed it!  Myself and Mummy also found it entertaining, chuckling a few times.  Even Zakariyah (9 months old) got some enjoyment from it.  When any music came on , he stood up and looked and enjoyed the sounds.

Conclusion:  It’s a great show that can be enjoyed by children pre school age and even by adults too.  It has catchy songs and the programme is a lot of fun.  At the end of the programme Yusuf said  “Mummy that was funny!”

The Bopps is on The Wake Up slot every morning at 7:35 on Nick Jr.  (Sky 615, Virgin 715 and Talk Talk 318.)

Please let me know if you have any comments or questions especially as this is my first review!
